Passivhaus Standard
Designed by our in-house certified Passive House designers, this will be a world-first drive-thru delivered to Passive House principles: super-insulated, airtight and highly energy-efficient, dramatically reducing energy demand, operational costs and long-term carbon impact.

Modern Technologies
As well as integrated sustainability systems including rooftop PV and rainwater harvesting, the unit will be delivered using a Gulman frame and SIPs enclosure (Structural Insulated Panels). Together, these will ensure a low-carbon, high performance shell which can be partly manufactured offsite, reducing construction time onsite.
Recalibrating Operations
The design team collaborated closely with Starbucks’ in-house teams to refine the internal layout and test product placement. This has resulted in a more streamlined and efficient operation, enhancing the experience for staff and customers while supporting the unit’s overall sustainability.

“Delivered alongside Tesla’s largest UK charging hub and showroom, Starbucks Trafford will be their first self-developed Drive-Thru prototype, targeting the Passive House Standard.”
