Following extensive public and stakeholder consultation, our team has recently submitted the initial planning applications to support our projects at Royal Victoria Place for Tunbridge Wells Borough Council. Forming part of a comprehensive masterplan to bring new leisure, food and beverage, retail and residential uses to the eastern end of the shopping centre, this first phase focuses on enhancements within the centre itself, helping to futureproof and diversify RVP.
The aim of this phase is to create a fresh and revitalised “Palm Court”, enhancing the tired atrium space and repurposing redundant units to deliver best-in-class retail areas and new destination leisure environments that will complement the wider plans for a new cinema and restaurants at the adjacent “Ely Court” area. The project includes the installation of a new high-performance barrel-vaulted glass and glulam timber roof to cap the space, alongside a comprehensive refurbishment of the atrium.
