Regeneration Catalyst
Royal Victoria Place is at the heart of Tunbridge Wells, Borough Council. Aims to secure future prosperity in their town centre. The RVP projects focus on the eastern end of the Council-owned centre, delivering a vibrant mixed-use redevelopment alongside a comprehensive reconfiguration and enhancement of existing spaces.

A New Leisure Destination
After over twenty years without a cinema and with significant public support, the project will deliver a new multi-screen boutique cinema on the Ely Court site. The scheme will include supporting restaurants, cafes and bars as well as a new public realm. Enhancing connections to the wider centre and what the new Palm Court leisure has to offer. Together, the scheme will deliver a much-needed anchor destination to improve the performance and attractiveness of the centre, as well as provide a vital boost to local streets and businesses.
Respecting Heritage
As well as delivering a carbon-conscious scheme, careful consideration has been given to the existing buildings on the site. The project will retain and retrofit all of Palm Court and has also sought to preserve key parts of the historic Friendly Societies Building on Camden Road. By giving the building frontages new life and reconditioning the interiors to suit modern uses. The building can be secured for the future and continue to tell an important story of Tunbridge Wells’s rich history.

“Tunbridge Wells is a beautiful place for an Architect to work in, with a rich history and active community, our team is fully committed to support the Council on their journey to truly transform RVP to benefit all who live in and visit RTW.”
