Technical Fitout Expertise
This project transformed a former JLP homeware outlet into a first‑of‑its‑kind full‑range mini department store. LJA was commissioned to technically develop new store concepts created by in‑house designers, producing the construction shell design information.

Department Store Evolution
The Horsham project served as a prototype for the John Lewis Store of the Future, trialling features ahead of a wider rollout. The redesign shifts from traditional department‑store layouts to curated journeys where beauty, fashion, home and gifting blend with immersive zones, guided by central product stages.
Coordinated Design & Delivery
LJA played a central role in shaping, specifying and detailing the interior shell design packages. Working within live retail environments throughout, the team coordinated a seamless transformation, allowing the store to remain open while delivering a technically complex and phased fitout programme.

“It has been a pleasure to work with the John Lewis Partnership and their teams on this store transformation, testing a process to support future upgrades across their portfolio.”
Nick Strachan, Director
