A Contemporary Retail Re‑Set

With 20+ years’ experience at Lakeside, we led the relocation of M&S into the former Debenhams, unlocking value from a redundant anchor. Working with the client, tenant and consultant team, we agreed a tailored specification and base-build alterations to support M&S’s operational and brand needs.

Prioritising Inclusivity

Customer experience and accessibility were central to the design approach. A newly configured car park layout provides direct, level access to the M&S Food offer, significantly improving convenience and inclusivity. Blue Badge and parent-and-child parking spaces are positioned immediately adjacent to the entrance, creating a clear, intuitive and welcoming arrival for all users.

Contributing to the Renaissance of Lakeside

This project forms a key part of the ongoing renaissance of Lakeside, a transformation to which we have made a significant and sustained contribution. From the initial mall refurbishment, through the delivery of the new leisure extension, to multiple tenant relocations and adaptations, our deep understanding of the centre and proven retail design expertise have enabled us to deliver consistently successful outcomes for clients, tenants and customers alike.

“This scheme reflects what we do best taking challenging retail environments and delivering clear, practical solutions that perform operationally and enhance customer experience. It’s another example of our ability to consistently deliver complex retail projects for long-term success.”
