Injecting new life into the UK’s first “mega-mall.”
|Type||Retail, Leisure, Mixed-use|
|Size||2 million sqft|
We’re collaborating with a diverse team to reposition and upgrade the iconic MetroCentre into a new mixed-use destination, attracting exciting new tenants and occupiers.
The first phase, “Town Square”, reconfigures the former House of Fraser as a new space for H beauty, Harrods’ lifestyle store. We’re upgrading the adjacent atrium to align with the brand, introducing greening and a new environment, signalling the onset of transformation throughout the centre.
It’s not just retail – we’re investigating alternative uses to expand the centre’s offer and reinvigorate the night-time economy. Our ambition is to introduce variety and create a more attractive environment for tenants and visitors. Plans include a new green boulevard, hotel, active leisure and an entrance terminal, alongside a series of sustainable technology upgrades.
“We’re driving a strategy to reimagine the Metrocentre, attracting a rich mixture of new tenants and alternative uses.”Nick Strachan, Director
