Second move in Minsk for Leslie Jones

Leslie Jones Architecture have been commissioned to prepare the masterplan and concept designs for an exclusive tennis centre and sports facility in Minsk, the second project for the architects in the Belarusian capital.

The scheme will be situated on a two-hectare site north east of the city centre and will include a tennis centre, 25-metre swimming pool, fitness centre, squash, beach tennis and mini-football facilities.

The project sits on a greenfield site, with a wooded perimeter, which benefits from stunning views across an adjacent inland lake and city park.

This follows the recent news that Leslie Jones has been appointed by Aquabel to prepare concept designs for the major extension and redevelopment of Expobel Shopping Centre in Minsk.

The masterplan and designs will be led by Simon Scott, who is spearheading the firm’s overseas expansion with a particular focus on targeted EMEA countries.

Simon commented: “Leslie Jones’ international expansion continues to go from strength to strength as existing and potential clients from across Europe recognise the diversity of our design skills and our position as leading mixed use and leisure specialists. The emerging design concept will create a bold new architectural statement and respond respectfully to the rural beauty of the site within the urban character Minsk and reflect on the emerging dynamics of lifestyles within the city.”
