Plans for new multi-storey car park at Centre:MK approved

Designs by Leslie Jones Architecture for a new multi-storey car park at Centre:MK in Milton Keynes have been approved at committee by Milton Keynes’ Council.

The plans will see the introduction of a 1,400 space multi-storey car park to the eastern end of the listed shopping centre, jointly owned by Hermes Investment Management and AustralianSuper.

Leslie Jones drew inspiration from the architecture of the Grade II listed centre, one of Milton Keynes’ most prevalent features, to deliver a design that incorporates precast concrete and a dynamic screened façade to complement the 1.3 million sq ft centre. This treatment is designed to give depth to the external cladding, while screening the cars and bringing rhythm to the elevations.
