Old Market takes Gold

Leslie Jones Architecture’s team were in triumphant spirits last night following Old Market, Hereford scooping arguably the most prestigious award in the retail calendar.

Old Market, which was designed by Leslie Jones and Allies & Morrison, won ‘New Centre of the Year’ at the BCSC Gold Award. The £90 million scheme, developed by Stanhope and funded by British Land, has created a modern 310,000 sq ft open-air extension to the city’s retail offering.

Brian Tracey, Director at Leslie Jones said: “We are proud to have contributed to the development of Old Market, which has been breathing new life into Hereford since it opened in May. This significant accolade is testament to the scheme’s success in attracting new retailers and leisure operators as a natural extension to the historical city’s offering.”

London Designer Outlet in Wembley, which was designed by Leslie Jones for Quintain, was also shortlisted for the award.
