Andrew Ogg is Managing Director of Leslie Jones. He joined the practice in 1983, became a partner in 1986 and was appointed as Managing Partner in 1996 prior to incorporation.

Andrew has been involved extensively in the design and construction of mixed use, retail and leisure town centre projects throughout his career.

At Leslie Jones, Andrew provides a guiding hand and influence for the LJ team and brings to bear his wealth of experience and knowledge across designs and project solutions.

He has been a member of the Board of Management of The British Council of Shopping Centres, the representative body of the retail property industry, since 1997, was chairman of the BCSC annual conference in Manchester in 1999, and was the first architect President of BCSC in 2004. He has been involved in the commissioning and publication of a number of key BCSC Research projects including ‘Urban Design for Retail Environments’, ‘Managing the Retail Led Environment of the Future’, ‘The Good Transport Guide’ and ‘The Smaller Towns Report.

He has advised the English Historic Towns Forum on updating their guidance on Retail Development in Historic Towns.

Currently Andrew is Chairman of the Development Design Awards Jury for the South African Council of Shopping Centres and has been an active member of the Retail and Future Project Awards Jury held at MAPIC in Cannes.

When not directing projects or leading industry forums, Andrew enjoys relaxing by cycling and sailing. He recently joined other captains of the retail industry to complete the ARC – an ambitious race across the Atlantic from Gran Canaria to St Lucia.

Andrew serves as a member of the BCSC Urban Development Committee which assesses, monitors and inputs into new legislation which affects the retail property industry.

Andrew is also coordinator of the BCSC Overseas Study Tour Educational programme having arranged visits and programmes to Portugal, Poland, Dubai and Turkey over recent years.

As Chairman of the Retail Design and Development Awards Jury for the South African Council of Shopping Centres since 2007, he visits the country annually to participate in jury visits and awards. The 2010 overall award went to Morningside Mall Sandton by Flanagan and Gerard Developments, a new district centre of high quality design with an innovative tenant mix of convenience, upscale speciality and fine dining.
